Carmen Lee
Principal Investigator
Carmen is Associate Editor of the journal Discourse, Context & Media, and co-editor of the Routledge Language and Digital Media book series. Her research on digital discourse has been concerned with the ways online activities are closely tied to and embedded in offline lived experiences, and the impact of digital discourse on social practices. Her major publications include Language Online (2013, Routledge, with D. Barton) and Multilingualism Online (2017, Routledge). She is currently Associate Professor in the Department of English at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dennis Chau
Co-Investigator
Dennis is Lecturer in the School of Arts and Social Sciences at the Open University of Hong Kong. His doctoral research at University of Reading investigates language ideologies in digital discourse.

David Barton
Co-Investigator
David is an honorary professor at the Department of Linguistics and English Language of Lancaster University, United Kingdom. His research focuses on applied linguistics with a special focus on literacy, and academic writing. He was co-investigator of the ESRC project The Dynamics of Knowledge Creation: Academics Writing in the Contemporary University Workplace , led by a team of researchers at Lancaster University. A book has been published as a result of the project.
